Wedding Day Coordinator

Planning a wedding can be very stressful for many but the most stressful part will be your wedding day. First is setting up of the ceremony and then preparing reception site. Not to mention to make sure your bridal party shows up and in theie proper attire. All this takes time, work, and not to mention it can be stressful. So you have detailed timeline but do you have that time? I would strongly suggest a Wedding Day Coordinator.

Wedding Day Coordinator,Wedding Gowns,Plus Size, Maryland

The wedding day coordinator will keep you on track and organized. They will keep your wedding running smoothly and on time. Most importantly they will make sure you and your groom are the first to eat and have drinks. The wedding day coordinator will make sure all the events of the reception happen; everyone has drinks for toasting, knife and server ready for the cake cutting, bouquet toss, and hunting down anyone needed for a special toast or dance. That way you can really enjoy the day as the bride and groom. You will be able to spend more time laughing and dancing with your family and friends instead of worrying about what needs to happen and at what time. You spent a lot of time and stress planning the wedding day of your dreams. So it is your turn to enjoy and relax, invest in a Wedding Day Coordinator.

Family Members

If a family member offers to be your wedding day coordinator, politely say NO, let them enjoy the wedding too. Hire a professional. It is worth the cost to be stress free and to be able to enjoy your wedding day. Many wedding coordinators offer the day of service. Ask your recently married friends for recommendations and start interviewing. As you find a wedding coordinator that you click with and they will start providing ideas and suggestions. You will not regret this extra part of your wedding!

Tips for Choosing The Perfect Wedding Centerpieces

Wedding Centerpieces, why are they so important? A large part of planning the perfect wedding comes down to planning the perfect wedding reception. While the ceremony itself is the star of the day, the reception is the much anticipated after party and that’s when the real celebrations take place. When couples plan their wedding reception a great deal of attention is put on the food and entertainment, which is as it should be. But décor plays a large part in setting the stage for a memorable wedding reception, and it’s easy to overlook those little things that can help to add a distinctive touch to your own wedding celebration. Such as your Wedding Centerpieces.

Why the Concern on Wedding Centerpieces?

During the reception, your guests will be spending much of their time seated around dining tables. When they are not dancing or moving through the receiving lines, guests will be seated at table eating, drinking, and generally enjoying the company of friends and family. Wedding centerpieces give couples a wonderful opportunity to put their own personalities into the décor of the venue. Wedding centerpieces can take many different forms, from flower arrangements to a cluster of mirrors and candles; from fruit baskets to elegantly arranged tea cakes. The only limit is your imagination.

What to Consider

There are a number of things couples need to consider when choosing their wedding centerpieces. First, and foremost, is budget. Decide how many tables will be needed for your reception, and how much money you can allow for each centerpiece.  Consider how many guests will be seated at each table and how much space can be given to the centerpiece. Try to avoid centerpieces that take up too much space, and steer clear of designs that may obstruct your guest’s view. If your reception is in a dimly lit venue, you may want to include candles or tea lights in your centerpieces to create accent lighting at your guest’s tables.

Coordinate With Your Venue

Before settling on any final design choices for your wedding centerpieces, be sure to check with your venue. Some venues have restrictions. You should also confirm set-up times with venue, to ensure that you have ample time beforehand to set up. Also don’t forget to find out who is responsible for clean up after your reception.

Wedding Mistakes

FIVE Wedding Mistakes Everyone Still Makes

There is bound to be at least one thing or another that goes wrong on your wedding day, and if you ask us, that is all part of the charm of it all. So it rained, get some pictures of you and your new spouse kissing under an umbrella. And so the cake started melting; we guarantee it will still taste delicious. There are so many things that go into planning a wedding that it’s no wonder that a few of them might go wrong. However, as long as it isn’t one of the five we’ve listed below, you should still be in good shape.

1.) Wearing high heels. All. Night. Long. It’s your wedding day, so by all means wear the most extravagant and ridiculous shoes you feel like wearing; just don’t expect to be able to walk comfortably in them for the entire night. Wear the down the aisle and for pictures, and then bring a set of flats or a smaller height heel to save your sanity for the rest of the night.

2.) Micromanaging your vendors. As long as you’ve hired professional vendors, there’s no need to micromanage them. You’ve probably already had countless conversations with them about what you want, so just point them in the right direction and let them do their jobs. Now if you’re little cousin is the DJ and your Mother in Law…you might have some reason to be worried.

3.) Planning the bachelor/bachelorette party for the night before the wedding. This party is widely recognized as one of the craziest nights of your life, so why on earth would you plan it for the night before one of the biggest days of your life? Plan to have your night long before the night before your wedding. This will give you plenty of time to recover and enjoy your day the way it’s meant to be celebrated.

4.) Demanding too much of your wedding party. The people in your wedding party are your favorite people in your life, so go easy on them. There’s no point in ruining your friendship over something as insignificant as how neatly they folded the origami swans for your cake display. Those swans aren’t going to be there to comfort you 20 years from now when menopause sets in.

5.) Budget! How are you going to explain to your future children that they won’t be able to go to college because you absolutely needed that ice sculpture and vintage limo. Chances are, that conversation probably isn’t going to go very well, so save the fuchsia orchids for something else and enjoy living the rest of your life not trying to dig yourself out of debt.

How do I shop for my Bridal Gown?

You are engaged and now it is time to go Bridal Gown Shopping. What are the key things you should know when shopping for your bridal gown?

What is the best day to shop?

The busiest time at a bridal boutique is Saturday and Sunday. If you want to have less of a crowd go during the week.

How do I decide what bridal shop to go to?

Ask your friends where they went shopping for their bridal gown. Research online all the bridal boutiques in your area and decide which ones you want to shop and find your bridal gown. Call the boutiques to see if they require appointments and what their price ranges are for their bridal gowns. Limit the number of people to your appointment. It makes it less stressful on you. You can always bring them back to show them your bridal gown.

When should I order my Bridal Gown?

Brides magazine recommends that you purchase your gown at least 9 months to 1 year before your wedding date. Why such a large time frame? Your dress needs to be made from the designer. Most designers do not have hanging inventory and when your dress is ordered that is when it starts the manufacturing process. You will also need to allow time for alterations and any issues that may come up. Time is your friend when ordering your bridal gown. This is a big decision and it will set the tone/theme for your wedding. Once this item is checked off your list, you can move on to all the other fashion decisions of your wedding. If you are planning on purchasing off the rack then we suggest 4 to 6 months before your wedding date. As the other fashions for the wedding party need to be ordered as well and they can take up to 4 months to arrive.

What should I bring with me to my appointment?

Photos of dress styles you would like to try. Any items that you have already decided to wear such as shoes, undergarments, veil, jewelry, etc.

Who should I bring with me to my appointment?

Be extremely careful with whom you bring to your appointment. Too many people will make your decision extremely difficult and very frustrating for you. They also need to understand your style and your budget. They need to be supportive and want to be there for YOU. The key is to bring the key people that you need to help make your decision. The magic numbers seems to be no more than 4.

What should I tell my Bridal Fashion Consultant?

Be 100% honest with your Bridal Fashion Consultant. Tell her the styles you are interested in, any concerns/requirements of the gown, how you feel about the dresses you are trying on or have tried on, and your bridal gown budget. Falling in love with a dress that is way beyond your budget will just take up too much time at your appointment and then you will compare every other dress to the dress that is out of your budget. Holding back or lying to your Bridal Fashion Consultant will only prevent her from doing her job and finding your bridal gown.

Should I only try on dresses I like?

Try on gowns that you pick out and gowns that your Bridal Fashion Consultant may suggest. Be open-minded, a dress looks so much different on someone than hanging on the hanger.

Should I buy a dress on my first visit?

Absolutely! Why Not? Only you will know when it is the right dress. At your appointment you will try on several gowns and when you find the dress you will know it. You have so many other tasks to complete with planning your wedding, get this big one checked off the list and move on to the next one. Once you purchase your gown stop looking at bridal gowns keep moving forward with planning your wedding.

What could I risk by not buying the dress I love on my appointment?

By leaving an appointment with a dress you love, but not purchasing it, you risk a few things. The dress may be sold off the rack and you will not have the opportunity to show your mother later or to try it on again. So you will be ordering from memory. Another risk is that a gown may be discontinued by a designer and unable to be reordered. In that case the only dress available will be the one in the store and if it isn’t in the color and size you need you miss the opportunity to have the dress you fell in love with. It’s best to be ready by bringing your mom or whomever you want with you so if you find that perfect dress you won’t have to leave it behind. Why take the risk?

Shopping for your bridal gown should be fun, exciting, and something you tell all your friends about. Enjoy this time with your family and friends.

Wedding Tips for Wedding #2…or #3, or #4…

Posted on

 Bridal Gowns,Wedding Dresses,Maryland,Plus Size,Prom

In this day and age it’s really not uncommon for people to be married more than once. It’s been proven time and time again that getting married before the age of 25 skyrockets your chance of divorce (don’t even get me going on the psychology of human brain development before 25 years old), so it’s perfect understandable that a generation of people that got married before 25 would get divorced and then find real love later on in life.

So that being said, let’s get to the fun stuff!

Your second (or third, or fourth) marriage doesn’t have to be exactly like your first wedding, nor does it have to be completely different. There are, however, a few tips you might want to keep in mind.

1.) Focus on this wedding. It can be easy to bring up your first wedding during wedding planning. “When Bob and I got married, we had these adorable little cupcakes…” But it’s not recommended. This should be about your current relationship, not past relationships. Plus, are you really going to take the “amazing” suggestion anyway? Chances are, if your future spouse and his ex had cupcakes at their wedding, you’re not going to want a cupcake near your venue.

2.) Wear what you want. For many women, the first time around was a compromise. They chose a wedding dress that their mother, sister, maid of honor all agreed on, even if it might not have been the dress you would have chosen. For your second wedding, do whatever you want! Screw the ballgown you weren’t crazy about the first time around, and go for a clean elegant white gown covered in lace or a short, blue dress with feathers. Yes I said blue. Or any color you could possibly want.

Bridal Gowns,Wedding Dresses,Maryland,Plus Size,Prom

3.) Invite the right people. If you had reservations the first time around about inviting your sister-in-law because she makes everything about her and sure enough she showed up in white announcing her engagement, don’t feel bad about leaving her off the guest list this time. And if your mom just insists on inviting your childhood neighbors tell her too bad. No harm, no foul.

4.) Consider including your kids. If you happen to have kids during this time, think about including them in the ceremony. And not just as a flower girl or the best man, but in some of the rituals. A marriage between two people with children is not just about those two people coming together, it’s about the joining of two families. Letting your kids get involved will help them be more accepting of their new step-parent and/or siblings.

5.) Don’t stress. A wedding is a time for happiness, and since this is not your first wedding, consider the weight lifted. Many couples look back on their big day and wish they would’ve slowed down and enjoyed it a little more instead of being worried about if their guests are enjoying their choice of music or not. So on this round, have a good time and appreciate how lucky you are to have found the love of your life.

Wedding Cake!

Oh My Cake!

Wedding Dresses,Bridal Gowns,Plus Size,Prom Dresses,Maryland

If you’ve stood at the altar, said “I do” and held the hand of the one you love, you’d know how it is when the word gets around. The excitement creeps and engulfs everyone. There’s endless chatter about how things will be and it is often accompanied with a few fantasies about the ideal wedding. They are some of the most memorable and equally tiresome days as you get your act together and approach the big day!

If you are on your way towards the happily wedded life, we understand the kind of stress you are going through. This is the reason we’ve decided to play our role in helping you through the wedding preparations! Let’s start with the yummiest item on the list – your wedding cake!

Visiting the Bakeries

Unless you have a very good idea about what you are looking for, it’ll be a good idea to visit several wedding cake factories before making your final decision. It’ll give you an idea about what’s trending and what’s not. The most important thing you are looking out for is “perfection”! With so many cake options and bakeries, a little research and travel is much in demand!

Wedding cakes come in all shapes and sizes. Before you head off to look around, you need to prioritize your demands. Is there a budget constraint you need to respect in order to avoid going broke? Is it a simple wedding or are you planning to go frivolous with your preparations? Do you have any reservations about flavors and colors?

Know the ground realities so you are less tempted to transgress limits while you are at the cake factory. If it was about a two-tiered cake while you left your house, better let it be the same when you get back!

Respect the Timeline

If the concerned official at the desk says you need to order at least a week before the date (or a month depending on the season and rush), make sure you don’t miss out this important detail. Even if you manage to force the cake factory to make your wedding cake in less time than advised, a rush job might have some serious repercussions. Perfection is as perfection does!

Cake Photography

The tangible will be consumed and lost – the memories stay forever. Make sure you get your wedding cake photographed from all possible angles before it is assaulted. It won’t be a bad idea to photograph a slice as well – just to show how “rich” it was. Years later, it will be exciting to revisit the memories. By far the most entertaining would be the adventures you had while searching for the perfect wedding cake!

Don’t Forget to Taste Your Own Wedding Cake!

Admittedly you’d be surrounded by lots of people and you’d have little time to focus on anything else apart from yourself. Nevertheless, don’t forget to taste your own wedding cake! After all, what’s the point of going through all the trouble if you couldn’t get a good bite out of it!

Top Mistakes You Shouldn’t Make on Your Wedding Day

Wedding Dresses,Plus Size Bridal Gowns,Maryland,Prom Dresses,Plus Size,Wedding Day

Weddings are a magical time that makes every lady’s heart melt into a puddle. Is it any surprise that most women have been imagining their special day since they were young.  However as she gets older, the wedding in her imagination starts taking a defining shape with details that make her sigh. If you are one of these women, you already know the type of wedding you desire as well as all other tiny details including flower arrangement, the dress you want, what the groom would be like, the bridesmaid dresses and the venue.

However when it is finally time to transform the childhood dream into a reality, there are some things that you need to be careful of, as these insignificant details can become major blunders that can turn your special day into a disaster. The last thing you want is a bad taste in your mouth when you think of the wedding day. The mind tends to focus on all the wrong things; if you do not want to flinch every time you remember your wedding day, keeps these tips in mind to make sure you do not make these mistakes.

  • One of the biggest blunders that most people make on their wedding day is to forget to invite significant people for wedding photos. People tend to hold grudges and by not inviting them for a photo, it might leave them feeling left out, ignored or insulted. Make a list of the people you want in the wedding photographs and make several copies so that your bridesmaids and family members make sure that every person on the list is in the wedding album.
  • Make sure a family member or close friend is snapping photos from their own camera or mobile phone so that they can capture special moments that can add a personal touch to the photo album. These photos usually are able to capture the special glances between the couples, the expressions and emotions of the family members as well as mishaps that will make for good memories after the wedding, whenever you glance through them.
  • Make sure you have helpers for the wedding day, so you can enjoy the day while they take care of all the details. If you spend your wedding day, running around making sure everything is in order, you will miss out on one of the most important days of your life.
  • Make sure that there is a copy of the wedding vows with your bridesmaids so that in case you lose them, you are not lost.
  • Have coffee or energy drinks at hand, so that you can get energized pretty quickly every time you feel fatigue creeping on you.
  • Make sure that you wrap up the cake cutting ceremony and speeches early, so that you can get it over with and enjoy the rest of the evening without a care in the world.

However the most important of all is to enjoy your wedding day because, if you are lucky, this will be the only wedding day of your life.

The Brides’ Worst Nightmare – Not looking amazing in a Wedding Dress

Plus Size Bridal Gowns, Wedding Dresses, Prom, Maryland

So he invited you on a date and emphasized that it is extremely important for him. Somewhere in your heart you know you are about to glimpse that piece of silvery molten metal topped with a shiny stone that they call a “wedding ring”. “But let’s not jump up to any conclusions”, you say while trying to calm your nerves.

All you need is just one look at his face and you know the effort he made to create the perfect ambiance to know whether your intuition was right. However, once the initial excitement subsides a little and the plans are laid out, your worst nightmare begins!

Let’s say you’ve got a couple of months at hand before your big day. As it is you will most probably devote all of your time planning and perfecting the arrangements for that day! The decoration, the cake, the venue – everything has to be perfect because it’s your big day! But when it comes to the dress – well, let’s just say selecting the dress sometimes isn’t that easy!

The Real Problem

As you stand in front of the mirror and imagine yourself in a wedding gown, your mind will give you an image of a picture perfect princess. But what you see with your eyes may not exactly be the same, especially if you haven’t been much of a “fitness-first” person. Your wedding day is when all eyes are on you and each minute detail is being registered – even that slight “next-to-invisible” flab on the belly! This is where the real nightmare starts!

“I Should Probably Loose A Few Pounds”

You join the gym hoping they’d be able to tone down the extra fat from your body. The problem with most fitness regimes is that they take significant amount of time to yield results. And if you have just a few weeks before the big day, you can be assured you wouldn’t be able to achieve what you desire.

So knowing that your big day is in a couple of months will further add to your distress. Besides this, you’d be actively involved with your wedding preparations as well, which further reduces the time you get to spend on your fitness regime. On the whole, it is a stressful affair that is further aggravated by “a few extra pounds”.

The Only Solution

With just a few weeks at hand, the gym is no solution for your weight “mismanagement”. A better way to go around this problem is to come to the wedding dress experts. We can find the perfect silhouette to help you hide and enhance areas of your body. The wedding dress experts can show you how certain cuts can highlight your curves. It is all about making sure you feel and look your best on your wedding day! Trust in us to help you look amazing!

Your Wedding Vision

Making the Most of the Wedding Vision

Wedding Dresses,Bridal Gowns,Plus Size, Maryland, Prom

Years before you are ready to walk towards altar and formally commit to your spouse, you would’ve had the wedding vision. It is your idea of the perfect wedding – what it should or should not have. Over time a few specifications might change depending on other factors like the budget. Nevertheless, most of your wedding preparations are dependent on your wedding vision!

Some people dream about the beach wedding right in front of the scenic waves. A few might like the spiritual silence of church to create the bond. Everyone has different preferences. Amidst those who have envisioned already, only a few would know how to translate these images into reality. For others, the event managers are available to take on this job!

Why Should You Go For An Event Management Team?

For a simple reason; you want your big day to be perfect! If you overburden yourself with chores that you need to do before your wedding, you end up tiring yourself. Not only this, such kind of stress can easily mess up your tasks as well. Having an event manager by your side will allow you to channel out your stress productively without getting worked up.

Your wedding day is one of those important ones which stay in your memories for the rest of your life. On such an auspicious occasion, you definitely don’t want to be worrying about the color of the drapes or the flower arrangements around the venue. You need time to yourself to prepare and outshine on the big day. It is time to let the worries go; it is time for a positive change!

Having an event management team by your side can be really helpful for you. It doesn’t necessarily mean you will not be able to have your way or end up spending too much on your wedding. Most reputed event managers begin by conducting a consultation session in which they hear about your wedding vision. This is when you get to express everything that is on your mind.

Subsequent meetings help you decide on the budget, the venue and other particulars of the event. There may be a few compromises but in the end, it is worth your finances because it gives you the peace of mind that you need the most!

Getting Caught Up In A Whirl

The moment your spouse proposes till the time you say “I do”, time seems to fly by. The excitement and happiness will take up most of your time and energy. You meet up with your friends and family often to cherish these moments. There is so much about the wedding arrangements that you need to supervise in order to turn your wedding vision into reality. Often, you don’t realize the pace at which the time passes till you are just a couple of days away from it!

The event manager ensures you get to spend quality time with those that matter to you the most. They take up the burden of arrangements so you can focus exclusively on yourself, your health and your loved ones!

Selecting Colors for Your Bridesmaids – What You Need To Consider

Maryland Wedding Dresses,Bridal gowns,Plus Size Bridal

Choosing Your Bridal Party’s Colors For the bride, the heavenly white dress does the trick. Whether it has lace, an intricate design or is as simple as an evening gown, the white colors sets the bride apart from the rest. It gives the lucky lady a sense of being different, special and being the highlight of the day! While everyone’s eyes are locked on the magnificent bride, it shouldn’t be a reason for the bridesmaids to feel any less important. After all, they’ve spent a lifetime (or equivalent to a lifetime) with the special one.

It pays to be the bridesmaid; after all, who’s the next best person to look at after the bride? With bridesmaids, the preparations and designs are a lot different when compared with the bride. For the most part, the whole idea revolves around colors. It is exciting to see the best ones adorned in identical dresses – either in color or in design.

This brings us to the trickiest part – how to select the color for bridesmaids? Everyone has their own personal favorites. There are over a million colors to choose from and you have to settle for one. As challenging as the decision is, it is further worsened by the fact that each of your bridesmaids will have their own preferences. So they might not like the color you choose and will wear it grudgingly. Can you afford to spoil your wedding pictures because of a grumpy bridesmaid? The next best way is to opt to the tried-and-tested themes created to prevent conflicts.

Here is a little insight about each of these and how you can use the theme to reach consensus with your bridesmaids.

“I See The Sea”

Does your venue incorporate the picturesque view of the sea (or a lake or any water body for that matter)? If it does and if you are planning for a morning event, it’ll be a good idea to go for the soft colors. It adds to the beauty of your surroundings and completes the picture instead of contradicting it! These days, mint color is quite popular. It has a refreshing feel to it. If your venue has a couple of trees in it, the mint color would look spectacular on your bridesmaids! Alternatively, if there aren’t any greens in the picture, you can try working with coral pinks. It offers a “marine” feel that works well within sandy backgrounds.

The Vintage Classic

If your venue incorporates a high ceiling church building with golden-dust colored walls and typical decors with little to no flowers in the neighborhood, you are most probably headed for a vintage classic styled wedding. Accordingly, your best options lie with vintage colors. In other words, black color would look awesome on your bridesmaids in the given surroundings!

The Retro Revisited

Planning for a wedding that rolls with the setting sun? As the natural lights fade, deep colored dresses will automatically fall into perspective. With this, however, you’ve got a wide number of options. You can try deep purple, emerald green and deep blue. Let the majority decide which one it really is!
